It wasn’t about a grand celebration or a packed itinerary—just a meaningful ceremony, the people they love most and the chance to celebrate the life they’ve built together.
After their vows, we spent time outside the village church before wandering into a nearby meadow with their young daughter. With a classic green Volkswagen camper van, natural floral arrangements and soft hazy light, the afternoon felt peaceful, joyful and wonderfully unhurried.
Ashprington is one of those Devon villages that feels timeless. Surrounded by rolling countryside and just a few miles from Totnes, it’s the perfect place for couples looking for a relaxed and intimate celebration.
Following the ceremony, there was time to pause outside the church, sharing hugs, smiles and quiet moments before heading into the surrounding countryside for photographs.
The nearby meadow couldn’t have been a more fitting backdrop.
Their young daughter happily explored the long grass while Philippa and Andy simply enjoyed being together, creating the kind of natural moments that are impossible to stage. There was no pressure to pose—just gentle walks, laughter and plenty of opportunities for genuine photographs.
The soft, hazy light wrapped everything in a beautiful glow, giving the photographs a timeless feel.
A beautifully restored green Volkswagen camper van added a touch of vintage charm to the afternoon and made a wonderful backdrop for some of the portraits.
The natural floral arrangements complemented the Devon countryside perfectly, adding texture and colour without taking away from the simplicity of the day. Every detail felt thoughtfully chosen and completely personal.
One of the things I loved most about Philippa and Andy’s vow renewal was how relaxed it felt.
There was no schedule to follow and no distractions—just time spent together as a family, celebrating another chapter in their lives. Those quieter occasions often produce some of the most meaningful photographs because everyone is simply present in the moment.
