Home couldn't have been a more perfect place for Natalie and Josh to say "I do."
Their wedding took place at Dartmoor Alpaca Farm, where family, friends and plenty of four-legged residents came together for a day that was joyful, relaxed and full of personality. Set against the backdrop of the Devon countryside, every part of the celebration reflected the life they’d built together, making it feel wonderfully personal from beginning to end.
From children playing on the swings to alpacas quietly watching the celebrations unfold, it was a wedding that couldn’t have happened anywhere else.
There’s something incredibly special about celebrating in a place that already holds so many memories.
Guests arrived to a warm welcome, wandered around the farm, met the alpacas and chickens, and immediately settled into the relaxed atmosphere. There was no sense of formality—just people enjoying a day with those they love.
The beautiful Dartmoor surroundings only added to the feeling that this was a celebration completely connected to its setting.
As the day unfolded, the farm came alive with activity.
Children queued excitedly for face painting before racing back to the swings, while friends and family caught up over drinks and laughter filled every corner of the garden. It felt less like a carefully choreographed event and more like one big gathering of people genuinely happy to be together.
Those unscripted moments are exactly what documentary wedding photography is all about.
As evening approached, the celebrations continued with delicious kebabs that quickly became a favourite talking point among guests.
Later, everyone gathered on the dance floor, where the energy carried on well into the evening. Watching every generation celebrating together—laughing, dancing and making memories—was the perfect ending to such a heartfelt day.
My favourite photographs from this wedding weren’t created by asking anyone to pose.
They happened naturally: a child sharing a quiet moment with an alpaca, friends laughing together in the sunshine, parents watching from across the garden, and Natalie and Josh taking a few moments to themselves as the celebrations unfolded around them.
Those are the memories that tell the real story of a wedding day.
Whether you’re getting married at home, on a family farm or in the heart of the Devon countryside, I’d love to capture your day in a natural and unobtrusive way.
Every wedding has its own story, and the best photographs come from simply allowing you to enjoy every moment while those memories unfold naturally.
