That was exactly what Caz and Stig created for their beautiful wedding at Kingston Estate, nestled in the rolling South Devon countryside near Staverton. Stylish without ever feeling formal, luxurious without losing its warmth, and packed with personality from beginning to end.
Kingston Estate is one of Devon’s most sought-after wedding venues, and it’s easy to see why. The elegant Georgian manor house, beautiful gardens and relaxed atmosphere give couples the freedom to create a wedding that feels entirely their own.
Like so many Devon weddings, the weather had its own plans.
Showers arrived throughout the day, but if anything they made the celebrations feel even more memorable. Umbrellas appeared, guests laughed, and everyone simply carried on enjoying themselves.
Some of my favourite wedding photographs happen in weather like this. Rain slows everything down just enough to create cosy moments, genuine laughter and couples who simply embrace whatever the day brings.
Caz and Stig never looked remotely worried about the forecast. They were too busy enjoying every minute together.
One of the things I love about photographing weddings at Kingston Estate is how effortlessly it balances elegance with a relaxed atmosphere.
It’s undeniably a luxury venue, but it never feels intimidating. Guests wander between the gardens, courtyard and beautifully restored buildings, drinks flow, conversations happen naturally and there’s space for everyone to simply enjoy the occasion.
That relaxed pace is perfect for documentary wedding photography because nothing feels forced.
Instead of spending hours posing for photographs, couples can stay with the people they love while I quietly capture everything unfolding around them.
One of the highlights of the day was Elfic the Juggler.
Rather than traditional entertainment, guests were treated to an incredible mix of juggling, comedy and interactive performances that kept everyone smiling. It added a wonderfully unexpected element to the celebrations and gave people something to talk about throughout the day.
It’s little touches like this that make every wedding unique.
There were beautiful details throughout the day, but the moments that stand out most weren’t part of any schedule.
